ABOUT / CARLOS GONZALEZ

Hi, I’m Carlos.
I like making things work.

I build websites, solve technical problems, and connect the tools that make a business run. I do my best work behind the scenes, hands-on with a project or leading the team delivering it.

Building for the web since 2004. WordPress, local SEO, website support, and the experience to know where to look when something gets complicated.

01 / THE EXPERIENCE

Often, I’m the next call.

A lot of my work has started after someone had a bad experience with another contractor or agency. By then, they need clear answers, someone who understands their frustration, and a way forward.

Clients have told me they appreciate my directness, honesty, and empathy. They also appreciate seeing a website that matches what they had in mind—or takes it further.

Experience helps me spot options that are easy to miss. It means knowing which questions to ask, which tools to connect, and which approach is worth pursuing.

02 / TEAM LEADERSHIP

LINDA LOCAL · NOW LINDA OPTICS

Head of Google Business.

At Linda Local, now Linda Optics, I built the Google Business function: the standard operating procedures, quality checks, and weekly rhythm that kept the work organized.

I managed more than 100 location profiles, using HighLevel and Trello to coordinate the work. I also trained staff to report calls and jobs—the outcomes a business can use to judge whether the work is paying off.

That role brought together local SEO, team training, documentation, and day-to-day delivery. It’s the kind of work I enjoy: understanding the goal, setting up the process, and helping a team execute it.

03 / A FEW EXAMPLES

The interesting part is figuring it out.

REDEFINED WEIGHTLOSS

A database crash. Mid-migration.

During a move to a new host and domain, the database crashed. The business needed its website back.

I worked with their team to repair the database and manually restore data from exports, getting the site running again. This was before AI was available to help with the work.

AARAYA CLAIMS · FLORIDA

Backups that earned their keep.

At the start of a marketing engagement with Aaraya Claims, I created website backups. When unauthorized changes later damaged the site, those backups made recovery possible.

I restored the website and put access controls in place to prevent further unauthorized changes.

THE RACING EDITION

Subscriptions before WordPress.

I built a paid publishing portal with daily, weekly, and monthly subscriptions managed through PayPal IPN.

Three racing analysts could log in, write their picks, and publish them. The publication needed a particular workflow, so I built it.

04 / WHAT I BRING

A practical mix of skills.

Website development.

WordPress builds, page builders, and hands-on work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. I also have experience with Shopify and HighLevel.

My recent own-brand websites combine AI-assisted development with Oxygen and WordPress.

Local visibility.

Local SEO, Google Business Profile, and the website work that supports a business’s presence in its service area.

Ellemercito is a portfolio example of my local SEO work.

Technical support.

Maintenance, troubleshooting, hosting, migrations, integrations, and website security work. I’m comfortable with the technical work that continues after a site launches.

My support experience includes all the websites listed in my portfolio.

05 / WORKING TOGETHER

A clear brief. Room to get on with it.

I’m looking for part-time and contract roles focused on delivery: development, local SEO, technical problem-solving, or managing a team. My best fit is behind the scenes, with client-facing responsibilities handled by someone else.

Give me the outcome, the constraints, and the priorities. I’m comfortable working independently or coordinating a team, and I’m proactive about keeping people informed. You shouldn’t have to chase me to find out where things stand.

When a problem is unfamiliar, I research it first. Technology changes, and I want to know what’s available before choosing an approach. Often the right solution comes from connecting existing services in a useful way. Availability and working hours are agreed up front.
